Participant Safety and Protection Plan

The Estonian Dialogue Academy is committed to ensuring the safety and protection of all participants, particularly young people aged 13 to 30, involved in our Erasmus+ programs. This plan outlines our policies, procedures, and commitments to create a safe and supportive environment for all participants.

  • To provide a safe and secure environment for all participants.
  • To promote awareness of safety and protection issues.
  • To establish clear procedures for reporting and responding to safety concerns.
  • To ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
🔍 Risk Assessment

We conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks. This includes:

  • Evaluating venues and accommodations for safety.
  • Assessing transportation arrangements.
  • Identifying potential risks related to activities and excursions.
👥 Code of Conduct

All participants, staff, and volunteers are required to adhere to a Code of Conduct that emphasises:

  • Respect for all individuals, regardless of background or identity.
  • Zero tolerance for bullying, harassment, or discrimination.
  • Responsible behavior during all program activities.
📚 Training and Awareness

We provide training for staff and volunteers on:

  • Child protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Recognising and responding to signs of abuse or neglect.
  • Emergency procedures and first aid.

Participants will also receive information on:

  • Their rights and responsibilities.
  • How to report concerns or incidents.
📞 Reporting Procedures

Participants are encouraged to report any safety concerns or incidents. The following procedures are in place:

  • Designated safeguarding officers are available for confidential discussions.
  • A clear reporting mechanism is established, including anonymous options.
  • All reports will be taken seriously and investigated promptly.
🚑 Emergency Procedures

In case of emergencies, the following procedures will be implemented:

  • Immediate access to first aid and medical assistance.
  • Emergency contact information will be provided to all participants.
  • Regular drills and training on emergency response will be conducted.

We will maintain open lines of communication with participants and their guardians, including:

  • Regular updates on program activities and safety measures.
  • Opportunities for feedback and suggestions regarding safety and protection.

We will collaborate with local authorities and organisations to enhance participant safety, including:

  • Engaging with law enforcement for safety training.

This plan will be reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. Feedback from participants and stakeholders will be considered in the evaluation process.
