How can we support peace in times of deepening tensions? What can developing dialogue and communication skills accomplish? And how could we bring communities in conflict together in a meaningful way? We invite you to a special event about peace education with dialogue expert Anna Sidorova from Finland. In addition to this, we will share new and easy-to-use learning materials that are available for classroom, training and community event settings and that were developed during the Teach Peace project (2025-26).
- Date and time: Thursday 12th of November, 14:00 till 16:30
- Location: Vabamu Museum in Tallinn
Understanding in times of conflict
We will start with a discussion on peace education with our guest Anna Sidorova who collaborates with the Finnish Dialogue Academy. After Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine began, she started organising dialogues for Russian speakers living in Finland. Later they were joined by refugees from Russia, Belarus and Ukraine.
How has dialogue helped to create understanding between people? What were challenges in bringing these communities together? What has Anna Sidorova learned from these difficult conversations? She will share her experiences as a facilitator and trainer.

The interactive afternoon will also introduce the Teach Peace training programme – offering participants hands on knowledge about how to deal with conflict. This will be of interest in particular to adult educators, teachers and trainers.
