Recently we organised special sessions of our Youth Dialogue Lab project, at two schools in Tallinn. At Audentes International School students talked about the question ‘What do I need to feel safe in my community?’ At Avatud Kool the focus was on European values like freedom, democracy, rule of law and freedom of speech.
During the warm-up at Audentes, the students discussed opposing ideas: rules or freedom? Community or individuality? Privacy or surveillance? Then, they split up into circles and talked in two rounds. First, they shared their ideas about what it means to feel safe and welcome. After that, they explored how their community could support them in feeling safer. We organised this Youth Dialogue Lab session together with members of the Student Council.
Youth Dialogue Lab is co-funded by the European Union. Read more about this project here: www.eda.ee/ydl
